War enthusiast, Nick Smyth relates the compelling story of one man’s miraculous survival, beginning with the fateful night he became the sole survivor when his Lancaster plane was shot down in Germany’s heartland. Following 8 months of incarceration as a POW in Germany, at the end of the war, Lloyd Leah then began his desperate mission to find a way back to England for medical treatment.

Growing up, Nick Smyth developed an interest in Australian Military History and was able to visit Gallipoli for the first time in 1987. Subsequently he has visited the Western Front on two occasions, Gallipoli again, trekked Kokoda and more recently, he liaised with ex-Lancaster Navigator, Lloyd Leah to present his story.
